Create a Wiki site

Objective: Create your own wiki site.
Wikis are simple yet versatile. Once you learn the fundamentals of the framwork, you'll be surprised at what you can use them for. Let's get started!

1. Go to (click) PBworks.
2. At the bottom, click . Then click and click .
3. Under Basic > , click Select. (Your Wiki is allowed 100 users, 2 GB storage for free.).
4. On the Sign Up page, complete the following:
a. Choose your address: In the window, put a short title (no spaces between words) for your Wiki that you and your students will remember easily. This will be the URL of your wiki. Please write this URL on the form in your folder for later reference.

b. Agree to non-commercial use: Put a checkmark in the box that your wiki is for non-commercial (i.e. teaching) use.

c. Create your account : Enter your name, email address, and password. You will use this information to login each time you want to access your PbWorks site.
5. Click NEXT.
6. On the next page, choose your wiki's security settings and who can view this workspace.
- If you select "Anyone", you can email the URL to your wiki to other people, e.g. colleagues, and they can view (but not edit!) the information.
- If you select "Only people I invite or approve", you will manually have to add the email addresses of people you want to be able to see your wiki.
7. For the purposes of this workshop, please click "Anyone".
8. Check the box that you agree with the PBWorks' Terms of Service (after reading them) and click "Take me to my workspace."
