Objectives: 

 

  • Understand how Wiki features and tools support the development of interactive and collaborative learning environments
  • Understand how to embed audio, video, html plugins, and other gadgets into a Wiki site 
  • Develop interactive and collaborative lessons/activities using Wiki features and tools 

Tasks/Activities: 

 

A Wiki Collaborative Experience!  For this activity you will be collaborating by adding some comments to your Wiki partner's site.

 

1. In your web browser, type in the Url for your partner's wiki site.

2. Using the username and password information, please login.  

3. Click on the "Participant Bios" page from the Sidebar and read what has been posted.  

4. Add a comment about some things that you have in common.


Introduction

 

Now that you understand the mechanics of creating and building a Wiki site, this component will highlight how these features and tools can be put to use in creating interactive and collaborative learning environments.  Watch the video to get started and turn the creative, outside-of-the box thinking part of you brain on.

1. Go to Google Drive, http://drive.google.com and login 

2. Select "Create > Form 

3. In the pop up box, add the title: Wiki Feedback and select a theme

4. Click "OK"

5. Add a form description: Peer Evaluation for Wiki site

6. Add Questions that provide feedback for your site

7. When you are finished, click on send to retrieve the embed code

8. Create a new wiki page titled: Wiki Feedback and embed the form

 

(some suggestions for each type of question follow but feel free to create your own....keep it simple!)
